Just do it.

Nike? Probably. If you want to do something on a regular basis, don't just say that you'll do it. Do it. If you'll be making promises, then don't go breaking them. It's annoying, yes?

When it comes to blogging, you need to be interested in blogging. You need to be interested in sharing what you want to share to the people who will be reading your blog. If you're not inspired, you won't be motivated. If you're not motivated, you won't do it. So get some inspiration to get some motivation to get some progress, because a world without progress is a world that is meaningless.

Stream of consciousness. It's an intriguing literary genre. I'm not very familiar with it but... I think it's awesome.

P.S.: Chopin's Op.10 Etudes are also awesome.

Classical Music FTW!

I've just watched the 20th episode of the Nodame Cantabile anime. It was my first time to here Chopin's Etude 10-4. After hearing that particular part of the episode, it hit me. I just realized how amazing classical music is. I can't believe I turned my back on such wonderful music. For the first time in a while, I went downstairs to play the piano seriously. I think I'll be going back to the classical business. :))

P.S. Watch Chopin's Etude Op. 10 No. 4 below via Youtube. \m/

i'm bored

I'm supposed to finish the guitar for Physics though. And I'm supposed to finish my Reading Thesis, too. [keyword: my]

It can't be helped, though. My life has been out of sync lately :))

feb 20, 2010 :O

Huge post gap again. I'm still not used to using my mom's netbook. What's worse is that I can't use it anytime I like since I'm not the only one using it. My sister's computer is still unusable for blogging since it lacks a cable for the internet connection. [di wi-fi computer nya L-)]

btw, thanks volvo for the automotive project. :))
[passed it 5 days after the original deadline :>]

Still no cable

I miss watching TV. >_>

post gap 2

Every time something happens that disables me to sign in to my blogger account, post gaps occur. Last time it was Ondoy, which unfortunately abruptly ended my other blog :)) It doesn't have any interesting information anyway so I made another one. I dunno =))

You all know by now [all, meaning the only person who reads this :))] that my family has just moved to another house, from Sta. Mesa all the way to Pasig. [Going to Kumon takes one hour now :|]

Because of this, I've been using my mom's netbook since my sister's computer isn't fully set up yet. I was going to post some... er... posts involving pictures this past week. Unfortunately, I can't find out why I'm unable to resize them. Well, this netbook has Google Chrome and I am convinced that it's better than Firefox :)) The only problem is that I couldn't resize the images for my blog posts :| I just realized it this morning :))

That's the story of the post gap. I'll try posting more later :))

Lalaki Sa Dilim

I've just finished reading this novel by Benjamin P. Pascual. It was a requirement in school. Again, it has a very interesting story. It also shows various issues in the contemporary era - alcoholism, sex, rape, poverty, etc.

I like how Pascual presented the story. There was a sense of mystery everywhere, but despite the mystery and the feeling that there is something unknown, the narration was frank at times, reiterating the important details that were mentioned earlier in the story.

There was something in the characters that makes them seem alive. You'll really feel for Rafael, or get frustrated because of some of the other characters. I loved Ligaya. I fell in love with her the very first scene she was introduced. :))

It's an amazing novel and this might have been the best Filipino novel I've ever read. Yes, much better than Para Kay B. I read that book for a shorter period of time though, since I wasn't as busy at that time.

Final grade? I don't think I'll be giving any more of those. I don't think I'm credible enough to rate these books since I've actually just started reading leisurely. I'll just say if it sucks or not. :)) [In this case, it didn't suck. It kicked ass. B-)]

I wish all Filipino novels were this awesome :))

Talaga?

I haven't used the computer for three straight nights. That's why I haven't been blogging for a while now. :( I was barely at home since last Monday. I go to the house just to sleep. What the f*** is that abo-- *ehem*

Anyway, it seems like I've been busy for the past few days. Well, I'm back now. No worries. :))

I'm now part of two distinct bands!! [sort of]

Kipp asked if I could be part of his band [with two of his classmates]. Also, Kipp, Elora and I decided on forming an acoustic band. That means I'm a member of two bands. And it all happened in a course of only one day [yesterday] @_@ This means more jamming sessions :)) [...and more practice with the guitar.]

The band with Kipp and his classmates wanted to perform A Rocket To The Moon songs. Well, I checked them out [like he said] and to my surprise, I kinda liked them. I thought the lead singer was just an auto tune fool. It turns out that that was before. Their new album is a big improvement from the past. :)) Besides, it's healthy to have some Pop in my playlist. :)) [i guess]

P.S. I'm listening to Dashboard Confessional's A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar album now, which isn't Pop at all. =)) [But I listened to A Rocket to the Moon's On Your Side album yesterday!]

P.P.S. All the band stuff are just plans for now. We are yet to actually meet up :))

Is it love? Or is it just something else disguised as love?

now if only every teenager would stumble upon this image... :))

you are the only exception.

For some reason, this day has been really boring. And thus. I've been doing nothing but listen to Paramore songs and practice their songs with the guitar.

[i don't know what's the connection with the picture though. i just thought it was clever. :))]

Dekada '70

I've just finished reading this wonderful novel by Lualhati Bautista. It was a requirement for school. We watched the film starring Vilma Santos but I still decided on reading the book.

Like Ricky Lee's Para Kay B, this one was a bit hard to put down. Although, this book seems to be a hybrid of a novel and a history lesson since several paragraphs described the situation in the Philippines during the Martial Law [to make it worse, the history lesson was in Filipino]. Nevertheless, I had fun reading the book. The story was really really rich, showing most, if not all, of the problems that an average family goes through during the Marcos Administration. I didn't finish it as soon as I did with Para Kay B though. Actually, I started reading this BEFORE Ricky Lee's novel. That's one of the reasons why I didn't finish this earlier. I got too distracted with other novels :))

I'm reading Lalaki Sa Dilim by Benjamin P. Pascual now, but I've already returned the book to Emil. I'm planning on buying a copy tomorrow so I could continue reading it. That would be the next target of my "review" :))

Overall Score: 8.5 - Some parts are too boring. I never liked history lessons IN FILIPINO, but it's still lovable enough for me to finish it. :))

nugwam?

I've been really ticked off recently. My internet connection has been sucking for the past week. I couldn't surf well and my Y!M keeps on disconnecting. I hate when I'm having an interesting conversation or being in an interesting conference, and then the mood is gone. Dammit!

internet sucks.

I've been disconnecting and reconnecting several times since two days ago. It's really irritating...

How do you change people's behavior for the better?

It's called the fun theory. It's a very interesting project to change people's attitude about stuff, like taking the stairs instead of the escalator. It would be interesting if this becomes a worldwide effort. People will become healthier and take care of the environment better, even have fun in the process!

You might want to check their site. They have other videos of their other quirky ideas. :))

nilibre ko si mari ng cobra

...and I rarely do such things. :)) [treating others to something...] Lucky for Mari, I was in a relatively good mood. :))

Bonding with my Dad

I wasn't really home most of the time yesterday, and that's why I wasn't able to really blog on the last day of January :| But it was a fun day though. Well, sort of.

Most of the day I was with my dad. We went to celebrate the 10AM mass in our parish and went on dropping off my brother to his workplace in Greenhills. After that, my dad and I ate lunch at Alex III. Well, this was really unexpected since we don't eat in restaurants as often as before. And my dad would actually avoid this restaurant when the family is complete [Because of the price, I guess. Not even in Teriyaki Boy. @-)] That's why I was really surprised when he parked the car. I thought he was just kidding...

After lunch, we went back home to get some rest. We left at around 3:40PM to go to Antipolo. We were invited to dinner with the super rich! Again, it was only my dad and I. I brought two books with me [Dekada '70 and Hamlet] just in case I get too bored. Besides, I'm the only kid who came. All of the people there were my dad's friends. Miraculously though, I didn't see the need to even open the books. They were actually fun to be with [three of them were tennis fans, so they constanly went back and forth from the room with the TV to watch Federer as he beat Murray for his 16th Grand Slam title [halimaw si Federer @-)] and back to the table =))] Although I'd appreciate more interaction. ._. I can't blame them though, the generation gap is just too much. :)) They should've brought with them their children too. [Malay ko kung may makilala akong super rich na ka-age ko diba. :))]

The meals were amazing, starting with croquettes and Mimosa cocktails. The main course arrived around an hour later. Two kinds of salads, fish curry, chicken something [:))] and grilled longganisa [yum!]. I really don't eat longganisa but for some reason, I got addicted to the ones served there @-) The best part was the dessert of course. Chocolate Lava Cake @-) Probably the best lava cake I've had. :))

[Napahaba ang blog post kong ito ah. Kung nagbabasa ka pa, congrats. Achievement unlocked ka na sa XBOX360 mo. Pwede ka na magparty. Akalain mo ang haba ng pasensya mo. Parang nobela na to eh. @-)]

We left at aroung 10:15PM, which explains why I wasn't able to go online that night. But it's okay. It's rare for us father and son to bond with each other. The last time we bonded together was... well... I don't remember anymore!

Anyway, that's about it. Now, enjoy the rest of the night. :)) Sorry, no pics. I don't take pictures. :))
